Jessica Parks is a dance artist working in performance, choreography, teaching and dance writing. She is the co-artistic director of TUCdance where she both choreographs and performs and is the owner of budding children's dance education program, Growing Space.
As a dancer Jessica has performed as a part of New York City's Summerstage series, at Open Look Contemporary Dance Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, Jacob's Pillow, the Detroit Dance City Festival, the Irondale Center and numerous stages across New York City. She has been a member of Urban Dance Collective, Eva Dean Dance, Headless Horse Dance, Heather N. Seagraves and Dancers, among others, and has had the pleasure to work with choreographers Mia Michaels, Amy Ernst, Nathan Trice, Robin Rapoport, Eva Dean, James Clouser, Susan Quinn, Kelley Donovan, and the late Niles Ford. As a teacher, Ms. Parks has instructed master classes at the Open Look Contemporary Dance Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Energy Dance Festival in Curacao, ArtLabJ in Detroit and has been a guest teaching artist at Bates College and at Hofstra University.
This summer Jessica is honored to be the recipient of her second artistic residency at SPACE on Ryder Farm. While at SPACE she will work in collaboration with photographer PAYAM to develop a new multi-media dance work.
